Free Printable Valentine's Garland

Hey guys!

There's only a couple days left till Valentine's day, and I wanted to make something to decorate the good 'ol 'partment with to make it all festive, so I came up with this printable paper garland.  This one is a little more detailed than the thanksgiving one, so I'm including some instructions as well.  I hope you guys have fun making it if you so choose, (I'd love to see pictures!) and also that you have a lovely Valentine's!

You'll want to begin with this list of supplies:

- White or cream cardstock (I use speckletone French Paper Cardstock)
- gold glitter paper (Jo-Ann Fabrics carries a sticker-backed one)
- scissors (small enough to cut the little deatils)
- mini hole puncher
- string

As with the last one, the pdf I've shared is only one of each shape, so you can print the page multiple times depending on how long you want your garland to be.  You could even make multiple different garlands (one heart garland, one envelope garland, one feather and heart, etc.) and string them up layered and such. Or, if you prefer, you can use the pdf as a stencil for whatever fun papers you have!  Whatever your heart desires (sorry for the puns)! Regardless, I've added a couple fun things to some of the shapes, so stay tuned!

You'll want to cut out all your shapes around the edges to start, after printing out the pdf on the white or cream cardstock.  Then the fun begins.

Threaded Red Heart:

The big red heart is edged with tiny little white holes.  You can use your mini puncher to punch out the holes, and then it is your choice to either leave it decorative with a polka dot edge, or weave some thread in and out of the holes, creating a stitched effect. (I have to fess up to something here.  I didn't get to finish all of my stitch hearts in time to make the photos for this post.  My apologies.  There is only so much daylight in the winter, and I really wanted to get this up in time so people could actually do it.)

Valentine Mail:

The strange looking blue shape is made to be folded into an envelope.  Keep your blue side on the outside, and fold in the corners to make a rectangle.  use a piece of tape to secure the three lower sides down from the inside of the envelope, and leave the top one open to fill the envelope with purple hearts!

Glitter Feather:

For this one, your gold glitter paper will come into play.  I found some at Jo Ann Fabrics that has a peel and stick backing, so if you can find that, that would be choice, but if you can't you can still use a gluestick or tape.  First cut out your feather from the cardstock, then cut out the shape that mirrors the bottom of the feather. Use this extra piece as a stencil to cut out the same shape from your glitter paper. Once you have your gold piece cut out, all you need to do is adhere it to the feather, and Voila!  you have yourself a gold glitter feather!

Once all your garland pieces are put together you can assemble them in the order you want them on your garland and punch a hole on either end of the shapes, where your string will run through.  Depending on how you want the shapes to hang, you may only need to punch one hole for some shapes.

I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day!
